Please read the following information carefully.

1. Festival fee

If you cancel before Friday 29 November, we will be able to refund the total amount less the 25% non-refundable deposit. No refunds will be given once the festival has started. Exceptions may be made in the event of illness. Please contact the festival organizer Kelsang Roma (mail@kadampa-fest.de) by email within one month after the end of the German Festival.

2. Accommodation

If you have booked a single, double, shared or dormitory room and cancel your reservation before or by 21 November, we will retain your 25% deposit. Full payment is due by 21 November and will not be refunded unless we can assign the room elsewhere. The 25% deposit will not be refunded in this case either. Camping is subject to the conditions set out above under ‘Festival fees’.

3. Meals

If you cancel before Friday, November 29th, we will refund your expenses except for the 25% deposit. If you cancel on or after Friday 29 November, no refund will be given.

The organiser of the German Festival cannot refund any non-refundable deposits/payments related to accommodation in the event of cancellation or earlier departure. It is recommended that you take out appropriate travel insurance to cover such unforeseen circumstances.
Any non-refundable fees will be donated to the International Temple Project in Germany.

In addition to participation, please also select accommodation and meals.

Single and double rooms are limited and will be made available with priority to those who intend to attend the entire event.

When booking double rooms, please indicate with whom you would like to share the room.

Bed linen and towels are provided in single, double and shared rooms. Please bring a sleeping bag and a towel for dormitory accommodation.

If you have booked camping, please bring the complete equipment (including your own tent).

Festival meals

All meals are vegetarian and may contain eggs or dairy products. Vegan meals can be offered on request – please select an option when booking. Unfortunately it is not possible to accommodate other dietary requirements due to the large number of visitors.

CHILDREN (under 16)

Children are welcome at the German Festival, but special conditions apply. See: German festival page for more information. Please note that two adult supervisors must be responsible for all children’s bookings.

Due to the public nature of the festival, the safety and well-being of the children is the responsibility of the adult supervisors at all times. The organiser of the event is not responsible for the children taking part in the festival.

Children aged 4 years or older who occupy a bed in a double room pay the full price of the overnight stay. Children aged 3 years or younger sharing a bed do not pay the overnight price. We regret that we cannot accommodate children under 16 in shared rooms and dormitories. Children who camp and are accommodated in their parents’ tent do not pay an overnight price. Children under the age of 16 are not allowed to sleep in their own tent. They must share a tent with an adult family member or a supervisor.

Festival meals: Children’s portions are available at half price for children under 8 years of age.

YOUNG ADULTS(16 & 17 year olds)

Young adults may not stay in shared accommodation with adults other than their parents/guardians or family members.

There are special festival fees for children:

  • 8-15 years – 50% discount,
  • 16+ years – full price as for adults.

The event begins on Friday 29 November at 17:30 with dinner and at 19:30 with the introduction and ends on Tuesday 3 December at 13 with lunch.

The empowerment and commentaries are in English. The meditations and the retreat will be held in German. If you need a translation, please indicate.

If you arrive by your own car, we can provide parking spaces on the festival grounds. If you arrive by public transport, there are taxis from the Oranienburg railway station to take you to “Schloss Sommerswalde”.

We regret that we cannot offer a shuttle service due to the high number of bookings.

Please contact us if you have any special requirements.
